SHOOTING: Central District -- A Yellow cab driver was shot early yesterday morning at a Bolton Hill intersection by a man who stole the cab. The cabbie was stopped at Bolton and McMechen streets about 3 a.m. when a passenger he picked up earlier drew a handgun. The cabbie was taken to the Maryland Shock Trauma Center. The cab, No. 559, had not been recovered.

ROBBERY: Western District -- Police were seeking a 16-year-old boy who robbed a resident of the 800 block of Whitmore Ave. of $20, a jacket and gold jewelry, all valued at more than $400, in the 800 block of Warwick Ave. Tuesday evening.

CARJACKING: Western District -- A gunman robbed a driver of a Diamond cab in the 2400 block of Woodbrook Ave. Tuesday night. Later, Central District police arrested a suspect in the case and recovered the cab.

BURGLARY: Western District -- Someone entered a house in the 1700 block of W. Lexington St. through the front door Tuesday and stole a video game and 40 compact discs, all valued at more than $1,000.

BURGLARY: Western District -- Stereo equipment, a clock radio, VCR, two telephones and a 19-inch TV, all valued at more than $1,500, were stolen from a house in the 2500 block of Francis St. Tuesday by someone who entered through a second-floor rear window.

BURGLARY: Western District -- A resident of the 1900 block of Edmondson Ave. told police his landlord stole $900 worth of his clothing Tuesday because he had not paid his rent.

BURGLARY: Northwestern District -- Property valued at nearly $100 was stolen from an outdoor storage shed in the 4200 block of Oakford Ave. Tuesday.

THEFT: Northwestern District -- Nearly $1,000 worth of property was stolen from a truck owned by Automatic Door Specialists while it was parked in the 3800 block of W. Belvedere Ave. Tuesday.

STOLEN CAR: Northwestern District -- A 1985 Chevrolet with Maryland plates PKW089 was stolen from the 3900 block of Reisterstown Road between Monday night and Tuesday morning.

ASSAULT: Northwestern District -- A resident of the 3900 block of Park Heights Ave. was inside a house in the 4400 block of Pall Mall Road Tuesday when a man she knows struck her in the face with a handgun.

THEFT/ARREST: Northern District -- A woman who had $320 in her purse was arrested Tuesday when she attempted to leave the Farm Fresh store in the 600 block of Gorsuch Ave. by paying a lower price for meats than the checkout computer indicated. The woman allegedly placed lower price tags on more expensive cuts of meat but was stopped at the checkout counter by a security officer when a clerk noticed the difference through a code. Charged with theft and held at the women's detention center at the Central District pending a bail hearing was Rose Marie Hairston, 32, of the 1500 block of Windemere Ave.

STABBING/ARREST: Northern District -- Police arrested Shirley Dent, 25, of the 6600 block of Collinsdale Road and charged her with stabbing a man she knows during an argument inside the man's home in the 4100 block of St. George's Ave. Monday night. The victim was treated at the scene by an ambulance crew for stab wounds to the hand and leg and released.

THEFT: Northern District -- Someone entered a garage in the 3300 block of St. Paul St. between April 25 and 26 and stole a radar detector valued at $120 from a 1988 Honda.

Baltimore County

ARRESTS: White Marsh District -- Four Baltimore City residents were arrested early Wednesday while riding in a stolen car. Charged with auto theft and being held at the police station pending a bail hearing in District Court were Glenda Conyers, 21, Denise Penn, 43, and James McAllister, 25, all of the 900 block of Bunche Road in South Baltimore. Also charged was Ronald Penn, 29, of the 2000 block of Cliftwood Ave. The four were arrested by Officer Jeffrey Parsons of the traffic division, who spotted the car exceeding the speed limit on U.S. 40 near Batavia Farms Road at 1:15 a.m. Wednesday. Officer Parsons reported the car, a gray 1989 BMW, was stolen Tuesday from a garage near Harborplace in Baltimore.

ATTEMPTED THEFT: Parkville District -- Two men tried to steal a 1991 Honda 600 motorcycle parked in the first block of Revere Court at the Revere Park Apartments early Tuesday morning. The men were seen fleeing when the owner of the vehicle looked out a window after he heard a noise.
