Howard County police made 14 arrests for driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs Friday night and early Saturday at a field sobriety checkpoint on U.S. Route 1 in Laurel.
Pfc. John Parrott of the Howard County Police Department said 484 motorists were stopped at the checkpoint. He said 14 arrests is about average for a sobriety checkpoint.
