Becky Robinson, a member of the Harford Gymnastics Training Center, placed second all-around at the Junior Olympic Regional 7 Championships in Reading, Pa., with a combined compulsory and optional score of 73.975.

Robinson, competing in the Level 10 Junior Division for 14- and 15-year-olds, placed second on the balance beam (18.3), third in floor exercise (18.4), fifth on the vault (18.55) and sixth on the bars (18.725).

Robinson has qualified for the Junior Olympic National Championships at UMBC on May 13-16.

Girls soccer

The undefeated under-14 Harford United Flash beat the Prince William Tops (Va.), 6-0, in the Washington Area Girls Soccer League.

The Flash (defending Division I WAGS champions) was sparked to a 2-0 halftime lead by Cindy Wolf, who blasted a 20-yard direct kick. She then served up a corner kick that was headed from Sue Gianniccini to Katie Tiburzi and then was put home by Lauren Hess.

The Flash remained dominant in the second half, especially on defense, where Nicole Froman, Lauren Porter, Jennifer Kar--, Brooke Stastny, Jen Coulsen, Haley DeLaurence, Gianniccini, Tiburzi, Wolf and Hess didn't allow a shot to be taken on keeper Katie Bowman.

Forward Shanna Ziegenfuss scored twice in the second half, and Jenn Cook and Karen Tiedemann scored once each.

Assists were provided by Hess (two), Ziegenfuss and Cook.

Boys soccer

* Under-16: The Greater Harford Thunder (4-2-0) defeated the Davidsonville Gators of Anne Arundel County, 17-2, in indoor action at Myers Pavilion in Brooklyn Park.

The Thunder led 7-1 at halftime and continued to roll in the second half. Tom Hamme scored five goals, Ryan Orsini three, Jimmy Baker, Brian Golden, Paul Pfeiffer and Nick Stratigeas two each and Bruce Nickel one.

Baker had six assists. Jeff Sherman and Bob Lating manned the goal for the Thunder.

* Under-12: The Genstar Booters beat Kingsville, 9-1, indoors at Maryland Sports Arena.

Dusty Kurtyka had a hat trick. Steve Adolph scored twice, and Brent Haberkam, Steve Markiewicz, Tim Edel and Alex Markiewicz scored once each.

Assists were by Haberkam (three), Mike Barnes (two), Steve Markiewicz and Chris Bland (one). Ryan Nayden and Bland played goal.

* A late goal by Derrick Snyder, off an assist by Eric Syphard, propelled the Greater Harford Scorpions (2-0-0) over Parkville, 1-0, in Baltimore Beltway League outdoor action.

* Under-9: The Greater Harford Strikers defeated the GSPAA Tornadoes, 5-1, in recent outdoor action.

Alex Pycek scored three goals to lead the Strikers. Brian Kemper scored once, and Chris Schneider scored a goal and added two assists.
