Sykesville ballot missing one nominee SOUTHEAST -- Sykesville * Eldersburg * Gamber

April 23, 1993

Ballots for Sykesville's May 4 election went to the printers this week without the name of one nominee for a Town Council seat.

Charles "Tim" Ferguson's nomination was made and seconded at the April 12 council meeting although he was not present.

Mr. Ferguson declined the nomination, saying he was not interested in the job he had held for two terms until he lost it in the 1991 election.

Maxine Wooleyhand, who seconded Mr. Ferguson's nomination, said that she and Charles Mullins, who proposed him, will rescind their nomination at the council session Monday at 7 p.m. at the Town House, 7547 Main St.

Mr. Ferguson's refusal to run leaves three candidates for three seats: Garth Adams and incumbents Julie Kaus and Eugene Johnson.
