Father leaves toddler in car, flees GLEN BURNIE

April 23, 1993

A 21-year-old Annapolis man who left his 2-year-old daughter in a car in Glen Burnie when he bailed out to avoid being arrested has been charged with traffic violations and leaving his child unattended.

Police leveled the charges against Roger Alan Trott, of the 600 block of Broadneck Road, after a patrol officer tried to stop the red Ford he was driving at Ritchie Highway and 5th Avenue about 12:30 a.m. Tuesday.

According to police, Mr. Trott refused to stop, then drove behind an auto parts store and jumped out of the car. Police caught him hiding under a pick-up truck, the report said.

Police said Mr. Trott did not want to stop for officers because he was wanted on outstanding arrest warrants and in traffic violations.

Mr. Trott was charged with driving with a revoked license, driving while suspended and fleeing from police in addition to leaving his daughter unattended.
