St. Mary's takes CAC title, 15-9

FREDERICKSBURG, VA — FREDERICKSBURG, Va. -- Jim Mohler scored six goals and had two assists, leading St. Mary's (5-4) to a 15-9 victory over Mary Washington (9-4) in the final of the Capital Athletic Conference men's lacrosse tournament yesterday.

The Seahawks trailed 3-2 after the first period, then scored six straight goals in the second quarter to take command. Jim Christian's goal with 12:39 left in the first half gave St. Mary's TC 4-3 lead. That was followed by two goals from Mohler and scores from Dan Welch and Scott Hahn.

Welch, Hahn, Don Brennenan and Joe Bissett each scored two goals for St. Mary's. Aaron Reed scored three goals to lead Mary Washington.
