Four brush fires battled Monday

Carroll County firefighters battled four brush fires within four hours Monday.

The first blaze was discovered about 11:28 a.m. on Watersville Road. Engines from Mount Airy and Howard County were out for 30 minutes.

At 12:06 p.m. Mount Airy and Howard County companies responded to another brush fire on Flag Marsh Road and returned to their stations in 30 minutes.

About two hours later, Mount Airy assisted Howard County at a brush fire on Old Frederick Road in Howard County. The 2:04 p.m. fire kept units on line for about an hour.

Lineboro assisted York County, Pa., engines in fighting a brush fire on Wool Mill Road in York County at 3:01 p.m. The units were out for 55 minutes.
