Once again the Maryland State Department of Education and the Maryland Association for Health, Physical Education, Recreation and Dance has selected Arundel High School as a state physical education demonstration school.

The state school visitation team selected Arundel because of the school administration's support for physical education, the physical education elective programs it offers, the extensive testing for each activity and the diversity of teaching strategies.

The team was impressed with Arundel's excellent facility, the knowledgeable and motivating teachers and the polite, well-behaved students.

Arundel Athletic Director Bernie Walters Jr. accepted an award of recognition on April 2 at the University of Maryland.
