PRINCETON, N.J. -- Municipal bond issuers announced yesterday the early redemption of eight issues totaling more than $50.23 million.

1! The issues being called are: * Opelika Water Works Board, Ala., Series 1983, water revenue bonds, maturing June 1, 1995, through June 1, 2004, and June 1, 2011. $5.005 million called at 103 on June 1, 1993.

* University of Arizona, Series 1983, University of Arizona system revenue bonds, maturing June 1, 1994, through June 1, 2008. $29.55 million called at 101 on June 1, 1993.

* Lonoke County Residential Housing Facilities Board, Ark., Series 1979, single family mortgage revenue bonds, maturing March 1, 1994, through March 1, 1999, and March 1, 2011. All outstanding bonds called at 101 on April 6, 1993.

* Nemaha County, Neb., Series 1979, industrial development revenue bonds (Auburn Consolidated Industries Inc. Project), maturing May 15, 1994. All outstanding bonds called at par on May 15, 1993.

* Mercer County Improvement Authority, N.J., Series 1986 A, library system revenue refunding bonds, maturing Dec. 1, 1993, through Dec. 1, 1998. $4.775 million called at 101 1/2 on May 13, 1993.

* Lancaster County, S.C., Series 1976, industrial development revenue bonds (Duracell, Inc.-Formerly P.R. Mallory and Co. Inc.-Lessee), maturing Dec. 1, 1996. All outstanding bonds called at par on June 1, 1993.

* Metropolitan Government Nashville and Davidson County Industrial Development Board, Tenn., Series 1987, multiple family housing revenue bonds (Creekstone Apartments Project), maturing Oct. 1, 2006. $10.9 million called at par on April 21, 1993.

* Copperas Cove Independent School District, Texas, Series 1976, school building bonds, maturing June 1, 1994, through June 1, 1997. All outstanding bonds called at par on June 1, 1993.
