Loyola women win CAA tourney

RICHMOND, Va. -- Erika Maw- horr scored four goals and had five assists, leading Loyola to a 16-11 victory over Old Dominion in the championship game of the Colonial Athletic Association women's lacrosse tournament yesterday.

Mawhorr, who was named Most Valuable Player, set the tempo for the Lady Greyhounds, scoring twice and assisting on two other scores as they jumped to a 5-0 first-half lead. Old Dominion rallied to tie the game at 7 on a goal by Amy Duerr with

25:39 remaining in the second half.

Only 26 seconds later, Gina Roberts scored for Loyola with an assist from Mawhorr, giving Loyola the lead for good at 8-7. Roberts finished with four goals and two assists.

Duerr and Anne Windover each had four goals and an assist for Old Dominion.
