Fire marshal investigating weekend camper trailer blaze

A fire destroyed a 30-foot camper trailer on Wakefield Valley Road near New Windsor yesterday.

"The structure was fully involved, when firefighters arrived," said Dave Nelson, a dispatcher at the Emergency Operations Center. "The trailer was completely destroyed."

New Windsor, Union Bridge and Westminster volunteer companies responded to the 6:17 a.m. fire. No one was injured.

Mr. Nelson said the State Fire Marshal's office was investigating the incident.

Taneytown plans yard waste collection

The City of Taneytown's Utilities Department will pick up yard waste on Tuesdays by appointment only. Yard waste includes leaves, grass clippings, plants, shrubs, pruning, and trimmings less than 4 feet long and 2 inches in diameter.

New Windsor: New Windsor, Union Bridge and Westminster responded to a trailer fire on Wakefield Valley Road at 6:17 a.m. yesterday. Units were out for two hours.

Taneytown: Taneytown responded to an emergency water detail on Teeter Road at 8:41 a.m. Saturday. Units were out for nearly two hours.
