* Laurel: 9200 block of Canterbury Riding: Someone sealed a basement sliding door with caulk overnight Tuesday. Police questioned two neighbors who said they did not see any suspicious person in the area.

Whiskey Bottom Road and Route 1: A Laurel man, Mark Manuel Muino of the 9200 block of North Traders Crossing, was charged with car theft, police said, after they found him driving a 1980 Ford Thunderbird with no front tags Thursday night.

The car was reported stolen from Montgomery County last August, police said.

92000 block of Redbridge Court: Someone smashed a basement window and ransacked the master bedroom Thursday.

Police reported cash stolen.

* Savage: 8500 block of Storch Woods Drive: Police arrested a Silver Spring man Thursday for allegedly breaking and entering his girlfriend's apartment.

Police also accuse Gerald K. Williams of the 100 block of Colony Road of stealing the keys from his girlfriend.
