Jo Ann Hogan was selected Woman of the Year by th : Francis Scott Key Chapter of the American Business Women's Association.

M. Gordon Wolman, B. Howell Griswold Jr. Professor of Geography and International Affairs at Johns Hopkins University, has received the 1993 Distinguished Career Award of the Geomorphology Specialty Group of the Association of American Geographers.

Maureen Evelyn Langmead, a Roland Park Country School graduate, has been elected to the Beta of Maryland Chapter of Phi Beta Kappa at Goucher College.

Deborah Lynn Kirk of Timonium has been awarded the William H. Haussner Scholarship at Essex Community College.

Kathleen Flynn, a senior at Mount de Sales Academy, has been awarded an honorable mention for Mixed Media Portfolio in the 15th annual Art Competition for High School Junior and Senior Women, sponsored by Notre Dame College.

Lance Berkowitz of Baltimore, owner of Arcade Pharmacy, is the recipient of the Merck Pharmacist Award, which recognizes professional and civic achievements of pharmacists.

Emma and Daniel H. Broadwater, of Middlesex, celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary with family and friends at a party Feb. 20.

Larry Ikeler, a teacher at Hereford High School, was honored as a member of the Maryland State Wrestling Hall of Fame during the Championship Tournament at Western Maryland College in March.

Michele Cahill, of Annapolis, has been selected as the state representative for Maryland in the Mrs. USA Pageant in July.

Julie Bolcer, a sophomore at the Catholic High School of Baltimore, was awarded a place on the team of six students who will represent Baltimore in Extemporaneous Speaking at the National Forensics Competitions in Florida.

cartoon. Nori Higgs, another Catholic High School senior, received honorable mention for her news story from the Maryland Press Women's annual high school writing contest.
