A 32-year-old patient at Springfield Hospital Center who allegedly attacked a female employee Saturday was held on $75,000 bond after his arrest yesterday.

According to court records, Keith Garrett walked into the admissions area about 12:15 a.m. Saturday and exposed himself to the employee.

When told to stop, the man allegedly walked around the desk, grabbed the woman, knocked her to the floor and tried to rape her, the records indicate.

Several other employees responded to the woman's cries for help and subdued the man.

Mr. Garrett was charged with assault with intent to rape, second-degree rape, a fourth-degree sex offense and battery.

The woman received minor injuries but did not require hospital treatment, according to police reports.
