New chief of marketing, sales at Stanley Aviation

Annapolis resident Sava G. Comsudis has been selected as director of Marketing and Sales for Stanley Aviation, an Annapolis aviation firm that specializes in helicopter charters.

Mr. Comsudis will be responsible for creating a program focused on executive charter and leisure travel.

He is the head of Redwood, a media and computer consulting group.

Before joining Stanley, Mr. Comsudis was vice president of marketing and sales for Metal Fabrications Inc. in New Jersey.

Stanley also has named Stafford Dunn to the Directorship of the Heliport Operations, Safety and Services for activities at the new Annapolis Heliport.

With a background in a broad spectrum of aviation positions, Mr. Dunn is an accomplished pilot with military and civilian flight experience.

Visitors center gets new executive VP

Peggy Wall has been named to the new position of executive vice president of the Annapolis & Anne Arundel County Conference & Visitors Bureau.

In her new position, Ms. Wall will oversee all activities of the bureau and Visitors Center in Annapolis, which will be housed at 26 West Street.

Ms. Wall has experience in the hospitality industry, marketing, business management and legislative affairs.

Before coming to Annapolis, Ms. Wall owned an inn in Vermont, and was manager of the Community Development Bureau of the Greater Washington Board of Trade.

Transportation group gets new officers

Gene Baumgaertner recently was elected president of the Annapolis Regional Transportation Association.

Mr. Baumgaertner, director of transportation engineering with Greenman-Pedersen Inc., in Laurel, has experience in transportation issues in the public and private sectors.

Tha association also elected Alderman Dean Johnson, a Ward 2 Independent, vice president of its board of directors.

Other new officers are: president-elect, Steven Schilling, Nationwide Insurance Co.; secretary, Connie Pope, Ginger Cove/Life Care Services Inc.; and treasurer, Nick Manis, Manis & Wright Realty.

The association, which is affiliated with the Greater Annapolis Chamber of Commerce, addresses transportation issues that affect a seven-mile radius of Annapolis.
