Curley drops out of Catholic League

Because of the demands of participating in two leagues, Archbishop Curley's basketball team will not play in the Baltimore Catholic League next season.

TC $5,000 scholarship. The honorees will be announced May 3 at 3 p.m. on the ESPN program.

White already has received the Dial Award, given to the nation's top female scholar-athlete, a Rensselaer Math and Science Award and a national merit commendation.

White is a three-time cross country state champ, a multi-event state track champ and the defending national champ in the Kinney cross country invitational. She is also a nationally ranked swimmer.

Mr. A is doing OK

McDonogh athletic director Frank Antonelli is recovering nicely from an artery blockage in his heart.

"They [doctors] found that one of my arteries was 99 percent blocked, but they cleared it up," he said.

Antonelli, who turns 48 on April 26, was eager to get back into action.

"I'm back to work and I feel much better," Antonelli said. "I've got a handle on it now."
