BALTIMORE CITY BALTIMORE — E. Baltimore man, 22, charged in slaying

BALTIMORE -- A 22-year-old East Baltimore man was to appear today at a bail hearing in District Court following his arrest yesterday morning on a warrant charging him with the murder of a man Sunday night during an argument.

Charged with first-degree murder and using a handgun in the commission of a felony is Antonio Amos, of the 1200 block of N. Broadway.

Mr. Amos was arrested at 5:30 a.m. yesterday in the 1800 block of E. Lafayette Ave. without incident by homicide detectives and Eastern District police officers.

He was being sought following the fatal shooting late Sunday night of Scott Kittrill, 20, of the 600 block of Cumberland St.

Police said the victim and Mr. Amos were arguing in Mr. Kittrill's house over a cassette tape when Mr. Amos left in anger.

Police said the man returned about 20 minutes later with 7/8 7/8 TC handgun and knocked on Mr. Kittrill's door.

When Mr. Kittrill and the other man exchanged words on either side

of the door, Mr. Amos allegedly fired one shot through the door, hitting the victim in the left chest and killing him.

Mr. Amos was held overnight at the Eastern District lockup pending today's bail hearing.
