* Maryland State Bar Association appointed Michael P. Donnelly chairman of the Trust and Estate Section. Mr. Donnelly is an attorney with Adelberg, Rudow, Dorf, Hendler & Sameth in Baltimore.

* Perfect Presentations, a personal consulting firm that provides special event services, was opened at 409 Kensington Road in Baltimore by Bonnie J. Ledford.

* Alex. Brown & Sons Inc., a Baltimore-based investment house, won the Chairman's Award from the United Way of Central Maryland for its fund-raising drive. Alex. Brown raised $587,965 from employee and corporate gifts, a 121 percent increase from the year before.

* Mary Cynthia Atkinson won the Mandy Goetz Award from the Executive Women's Network for her volunteer work for the organization. Ms. Atkinson is co-founder and president of K C Forms Inc.

* Beth Diehl earned her certification in Nursing Continuing Education and Staff Development. Ms. Diehl is director of nursing education for Mt. Washington Pediatric Hospital.

* Linda Dunbar, Susan Moschella, Mary Pat Harrell and Densie Pudinski, nurses at Mt. Washington Pediatric Hospital, recently earned nursing administration certification from the American Nurses Association.

* Cynthia Gray was named a top achiever by Mary Kay Cosmetics.

* Mary Ann Masur was named a certified commercial investment member by the Commercial Investment Real Estate Institute. Ms. Masur is a commercial real estate developer with American Trading Real Estate Properties Inc. in Baltimore.

* James G. Morgan won the George S. Robertson Award from the Baltimore Life Underwriters Association. Mr. Morgan is chief executive officer of the Baltimore Lincoln National Agency.

* The Review and Herald Publishing Association of Hagerstown won the Energy Management Award from Potomac Edison Co. for its energy savings through an energy management system.
