UMBC comes back to top Drexel, 12-8

PHILADELPHIA -- UMBC rallied from a two-goal deficit in the third quarter to beat Drexel, 12-8, yesterday at Drexel Field.

The Retrievers trailed 5-3 at the 5:10 mark of the third quarter and went on to score eight straight goals to take an 11-5 lead at the 6:42 mark of the fourth quarter.

UMBC (5-3) had a 6-5 lead entering the fourth quarter when Drexel (1-5) was called for a three-minute unreleaseable penalty for an illegal stick. The Retrievers then scored their first three goals of the final quarter off extra-man opportunities.

Sam Walker led UMBC with three goals.
