* The State Intercollegiate basketball championship went to St. John's College of Annapolis, which defeated Mount St. Joseph's College, 32-19. -- The Sun, March 2, 1918.

* George King and his brother John, farmers near Davidsonville, lost their lives tonight when a horse-drawn vehicle in which they were driving plunged into the Annapolis harbor from the wharf of the Tolchester Steamboat Company at the foot of Prince George Street. -- The Sun, March 5, 1918.

* The Secretary of the Navy has issued an order making Annapolis dry effective March 16. The order bars liquor within five miles of the Naval Academy. It was hoped that the order might be postponed until May 1 when the saloon licenses expire so that saloonists could arrange to close their shops. -- The Sun, March 10, 1918.
