Charles Town to simulcast Oaklawn

CHARLES TOWN, W.Va. -- The Charles Town Races will present simulcasts of tomorrow's $750,000 Oaklawn Handicap and the $500,000 Blue Grass Stakes as part of the track's regularly scheduled full-card simulcast from Oaklawn Park.

Heading the field in the Oaklawn, a 1 1/8 -mile handicap for 4-year-olds and upward, are 1992 Kentucky Derby-winner Lil E. Tee and multiple stakes-winner Best Pal.

The Oaklawn Handicap, the eighth race on Oaklawn's 11-race card, is the richest event in the Racing Festival of the South, xTC which begins this afternoon at the Hot Springs, Ark., track.

Set to follow Oaklawn's 10th race is a simulcast of the Blue Grass Stakes, a 1 1/8 -mile test for 3-year-olds, live via satellite from Keeneland Park in Lexington, Ky.

Among the Triple Crown hopefuls scheduled to go in the Blue Grass are Prairie Bayou, winner of the Jim Beam Stakes, and Dixieland Heat, winner of the Louisiana Derby.
