Students build Renaissance castles

As a culminating activity to their reading and language arts program at Eldersburg Elementary School, some third-graders built their own Renaissance castles recently.

Each child selected a book of 60 pages or more to read for a March book report, including such topics as the Renaissance, armor and chivalry. The school is at 1021 Johnsville Road, Eldersburg. * Gamber: Units from Reese and Gamber responded to a shed fire on Deer Park Road at 10:15 a.m. yesterday. They were out for 41 minutes.

Gamber firefighters took one hour to extinguish a brush fire on Middle Run Drive after being called out at 4:29 p.m. yesterday.
