Man killed by train identified

The man killed March 31 when he was hit by a Boston-bound Amtrak train in Harmans was identified yesterday as Thomas William Yarborough, 44, of Severn, the state medical examiner's office said.

Officials said the identification was made through fingerprints. The cause of death was listed as multiple injuries.

Police said the man was walking north on the tracks near Railroad Avenue, just south of Baltimore-Washington International Airport, when he was hit.

Amtrak police interviewed crew members of the Night Owl train before allowing it to continue its journey to Boston, said Michael Stewart, a spokesman for the railroad. The train was delayed about 30 minutes.
