ROBBERY TRY: Northern District -- A resident of the 2600 block of St. Paul St. was in the first block of E. 24th St. Tuesday when a man approached and said, "Give it to me." With that, the Charles Village resident struck the man with his bowling ball bag, nearly knocking the man off his feet. The thug fled.

ABDUCTION/RAPE: Western District -- Police were seeking a man who forced a 12-year-old girl behind a building in the 2100 block of Mulberry St. Tuesday night and raped her. After being freed, the girl went home and was taken to a hospital.

SHOOTING: Western District -- A resident of the 1800 block of W. Lanvale St. was in the 700 block of N. Monroe St. Tuesday night when two men, one with a gun, demanded his money. When the victim refused, the gunman shot him in the left shoulder. The men escaped, and the victim was taken to the Maryland Shock Trauma Center, where he was listed in serious condition.

BURGLARY: Western District -- Someone entered a house in the 1600 block of N. Calhoun St. Tuesday by digging a tunnel from the basement of a vacant house next door. The person stole a clock, a radio, coins and a mirror.

THEFT: Southern District -- Between Monday and Wednesday, someone entered an Oriole Park sky box and stole property valued at $1,000.

BURGLARY: Southern District -- A VCR, TV and a computer game, all valued at more than $1,300, were stolen from a house in the 1400 block of McHenry St. Wednesday.

ROBBERY: Northwestern District -- A resident of the 2500 block of Oswego Ave. was in the 4100 block of Pimlico Road Wednesday morning when she was assaulted by a man who robbed her of $15.

BURGLARY: Northwestern District -- Someone entered a garage owned by Silverblatt electrical contractors in the 3000 block of Ridgewood Ave. Wednesday and stole property valued at $700.

THEFT: Northwestern District -- Jewelry valued at more than $1,000 was stolen from a 1985 Volvo Wednesday while the vehicle was parked in the 3300 block of Liberty Heights Ave.

ASSAULT: Northwestern District -- During an argument in the 4900 block of Elmer Ave. Wednesday morning between a woman and a man, the man pulled out a gun and fired several shots at the woman. The woman was not injured.

Baltimore County

STABBING: Towson District -- A woman was arrested Wednesday and charged with the attempted murder of her ex-boyfriend, Patrick Avery, 22, of the first block of Solar Circle. During an argument in the man's house about 7 p.m., Mr. Avery was stabbed in the back with a butcher knife. The woman, identified as Chandra Hopkins, 20, of the 6800 block of McClean Boulevard, was arrested at the scene, and Mr. Avery was taken to Sinai Hospital, where he was listed in fair condition.

ROBBERY: Woodlawn District -- A gunman robbed the Crown service station in the 8500 block of Liberty Road Wednesday morning and escaped with an undisclosed sum.
