Thefts of $8,400 in cash from mall kiosks probed

County police are investigating a series of thefts totaling more than $8,000 from two kiosks in the Glen Burnie and Harundale malls that occurred shortly before Christmas.

An employee of Brewster Glassmith Inc, headquartered in Virginia, told county police this week that another worker embezzled the money.

The reporting employee, Roderick Hogan, said $3,000 was missing from a glass-products stand at the Glen Burnie Mall and $5,400 was missing from a stand at the Harundale Mall.

Mr. Hogan told police that receipts were never turned in on Dec. 12, 18 and 24. He said the employee under suspicion denied the accusations.
