OFFICER ASSAULTED: Western District -- Officer Paul McManus was injured Tuesday when a suspect in a drug-related incident in the first block of Calverton Road reportedly struck him with his car while attempting to flee. Officer McManus sustained minor leg injuries that did not require medical treatment. Charged with assault with intent to kill Officer McManus with a motor vehicle and possession of narcotics was Patrick Bennett, 34, of the 5900 block of Bonnie View Drive, who was being held at the station pending a bail hearing.

OFFICER INJURED: Western District -- Officer Avon Mackle was attempting to make a drug-deal arrest Monday night in the first block of N. Pulaski St. when a motorist drove off, dragging the officer as he attempted to turn off the car's engine. After the driver dragged the officer for several blocks, other policemen stopped the vehicle and arrested the driver, identified as Joseph Twomey, 32, of the 700 block of Duvall Highway in Pasadena. Officer Mackle was taken to Bon Secours Hospital, where he was treated for injuries and released. Mr. Twomey was released after posting $50,000 bond.

ASSAULT/ARREST: Police arrested a man Tuesday who attempted to stab another man with a knife in the victim's house in the 900 block of N. Mount St.

ASSAULT: Western District -- A resident of the 1800 block of Aisquith St. was standing at a bus stop in the 1100 block of W. Saratoga St. Tuesday morning when a man stabbed her in the right leg for no apparent reason. The man escaped, and the woman was taken to Maryland General Hospital for treatment.

ROBBERY: Western District -- A gunman robbed the Lafayette Bowling Center in the 2200 block of W. Lafayette Ave. Tuesday afternoon of an undisclosed sum.

ROBBERY: Western District -- A resident of the 700 block of W. Saratoga St. was in the 1800 block of Baker St. Monday when he was attacked by several young men, who struck him with their fists and robbed him of $75. The victim was taken to Liberty Medical Center for treatment.

BURGLARY: Western District -- Someone entered the West Lafayette Pool Hall in the 1500 block of W. Lafayette Ave. Tuesday and stole property of unknown value.

ROBBERY TRY: Southern District -- Police were seeking a man who entered a house in the 1300 block of William St. Tuesday morning and struck the occupant with a piece of wood while demanding money. A fight ensued, and the intruder fled without taking any money.

BURGLARY: Southern District -- Someone entered a house in the first block of E. Lee St. Monday and stole more than $100 from a closet.

THEFT: Southern District -- A resident of the 900 block of W. Lombard St. was walking near her home Tuesday when a man reached into her coat pocket and stole over $100.

ROBBERY: Southern District -- Two men attacked a resident of the 1000 block of W. Lombard St. while she walked near her home Tuesday and robbed her of $6.

BURGLARY/ARRESTS: Southern District -- Police responding to a burglary in the 100 block of W. Randall St. Tuesday arrested a man, a woman and three juveniles. A small sum taken in the burglary was recovered.

BURGLARY: Southern District -- Someone entered a house in the 800 block of Seagull Ave. Tuesday after breaking a window with a rock and stole a VCR worth over $500.

ROBBERY TRY: Northwestern District -- A man armed with a knife attempted to rob a resident of the 4000 block of Wabash Ave. near her home Sunday, but he fled when the woman told him she had no money or any property of value.

ROBBERY: Northwestern District -- A gunman robbed the Quick-O food market in the 2900 block of Garrison Boulevard Tuesday of an undisclosed sum.

THEFT: Northwestern District -- Someone entered a car parked in the 4000 block of Fairview Ave. Tuesday and stole property valued at $300.

THEFT/ARREST: Northwestern District -- Police arrested a man Tuesday who attempted to leave the Rite-Aid pharmacy in the 4600 block of Liberty Heights Ave. without paying for property valued at $20.

STOLEN CAR: Northwestern District -- A 1983 Acura Legend was stolen Tuesday from the 5500 block of Belle Ave. Tuesday.

BURGLARIES: Northwestern District -- Someone entered two apartments in a building in the 4400 block of Kathland Ave. Tuesday and stole property valued at more than $400.

THEFT: Northwestern District -- Property valued at $200 was stolen from a car parked in the 5300 block of Reisterstown Road Tuesday.

Baltimore County

ROBBERY: Garrison District -- A unarmed man robbed the Regal Savings & Loan in the 10100 block of Reisterstown Road Tuesday afternoon of an undisclosed sum after giving a teller a note saying, "This is a stickup. Give me your money." The man escaped on foot.
