ARRESTS: Northern District -- Police arrested two men who attempted to enter the Signet Bank in the 5200 block of York Road early Monday morning by breaking a hole in the bank's roof with a shovel. The men were spotted on the roof and arrested without incident.

STOLEN CAR: Northern District -- Someone stole a 1983 Oldsmobile with Maryland tags YVY945 from the 3400 block of Guilford Terrace Monday.

BURGLARY: Western District -- Someone entered the Blue Ridge oil company in the 1400 block of Moreland Ave. Sunday night through the roof and stole $300 worth of coins.

ROBBERY: Western District -- A resident of the 2400 block of Arunah Ave. was in the 900 block of N. Bentalou St. Monday afternoon when an 18-year-old man he knows robbed him of $5 after threatening him.

DRIVE-BY SHOOTINGS: Western District -- One of four occupants of a red pickup truck fired several shots at people walking in the 100 block of N. Monroe St. Monday night and hit two men. A resident of the 2100 block of W. Saratoga St. was shot in the left leg and walked to Bon Secours Hospital, where he was treated. The second victim, a resident of the 4500 block of Pimlico Road, was shot in the right foot and was treated at the University of Maryland Medical Center . It was not known if the wounded men were the intended targets of the gunman.

ROBBERY TRY: Western District -- A resident of the 2400 block of Harlem Ave. was near her home Monday night when a man who implied he had a handgun demanded her money. When the woman told the man she had no money, the man walked away.

THEFT/ARREST: Western District -- Byron Logan, 57, of the 2700 block of N. Rosedale St., was arrested when he attempted to leave J.J. Newberry's department store at Mondawmin Mall Monday without paying for nine chrome-plated can openers valued at nearly $72.

THEFT/ARRESTS: Western District -- Police arrested two women Monday who tried to leave the Farm Fresh store at Mondawmin Mall without paying for $13 worth of food items that police found inside their purses. Charged with theft and being held at the Women's Detention Center at the Central District were Lillian A. Hill, 48, of the 5900 block of Highgate Drive, and Denise Queen, 33, of the 5100 block of Elmer Ave.

THEFT/ARREST: Western District -- Eugene Crockett, 30, of the 700 block of Nottingham Road, was arrested Monday and charged with stealing $19 worth of deodorant from the Farm Fresh store at the Mondawmin Mall. Police found the items in the man's coat.

BURGLARY: Southwestern District -- A TV valued at $400 was stolen from a house in the 1300 block of Wildwood Parkway Sunday night by someone who entered through a bedroom window.

BURGLARY: Southwestern District -- Someone entered a house in the 200 block of Furrow St. Sunday night and stole property valued at more than $200.

BURGLARY: Southwestern District -- Four bikes, all valued at nearly $1,400, were stolen from a garage in the 600 block of Nottingham Road Sunday.

BURGLARY: Southern District -- Someone entered a house in the 800 block of Hollins St. by climbing a rear fire escape Sunday and stole property of unknown value.

SHOOTING: Southern District -- A resident of the 500 block of Dolphin St. was arguing with another man about money in the 2300 block of Nevada St. Monday morning when he was shot in the leg. The victim was taken to the University of Maryland Medical Center for treatment. The gunman escaped.

ASSAULT: Southern District -- A gunman fired several shots at four people in the 100 block of W. Hamburg St. Sunday night. No one was hit, and the gunman escaped.

BURGLARY: Southern District -- Someone entered the Seaboard asphalt compnay in the 3600 block of Fairfield Road over the weekend by cutting a fence lock and stole a 1984 Ford truck and two cans of ether. The truck was recovered outside the fence.

ROBBERY: Southern District -- A resident of the 1300 block of S. Carey St. was riding his bike in the 1400 block of Ostend St. Sunday when a man knocked him to the pavement and stole the bike, valued at $100.

Baltimore County

ROBBERY: White Marsh District -- An employee at the Rite Aid pharmacy in the Golden Ring Mall, 8600 block of Pulaski Highway, was about to drop a bank bag in the night depository at the Provident Bank of Maryland in the Mall Monday morning when a gunman ordered him to give it up. The gunman escaped with cash and checks of unknown value.

CAB HOLDUP: White Marsh District -- An Atwater cab driver was robbed of an undisclosed sum about 2 a.m. Tuesday at Golden Ring Road and Delege Avenue by a gunman who flagged him down.

ROBBERY: Woodlawn District -- An unarmed man robbed the Maryland National Bank in the 7100 block of Security Boulevard of an undisclosed sum Monday morning after giving a teller a holdup note.

ROBBERY: Woodlawn District -- A gunman robbed the Velvetone cleaners in the 3500 block of Brenbrook Drive Monday morning of an undisclosed sum.

STOLEN CAR: Parkville District -- Someone stole a 1991 Honda Accord with Maryland tags YNA188 from the first block of Viewbridge Drive between Sunday night and yesterday morning. The car is valued at $18,000.

HARFORD COUNTY

THEFT: Edgewood -- Someone entered a car parked in the 1000 block of Agate Drive over the weekend after breaking a window and stole a radar detector. Damage to the car and the value of the property was set at more than $300.

BURGLARY: Joppa -- Jewelry of unknown value was stolen from a house in the first block of Singer Road over the weekend after someone entered by forcing a locked window open with a pry tool.
