Residents raise $1,140 for Union Bridge offices NORTHWEST -- Taneytown * Union Bridge * New Windsor * Uniontown

April 02, 1993

Union Bridge residents and friends helped raise more than $1,000 at a breakfast last month that benefited the fund drive for the town's new municipal offices.

The baked goods table and the breakfast and brunch-type plates brought in $1,140.

That brought the town's fund-raising total to nearly $11,000, said Vickie Greenwood, one of the event's organizers.

More than 360 people came out March 19 to lend their support -- and their stomachs -- to the fund-raising effort.

Volunteers served plenty of food, including 47 1/2 dozen eggs, 90 pounds of bacon and eight pounds of chicken, Ms. Greenwood said.

The next breakfast has been scheduled for April 19 at the Union Bridge Fire Hall.
