Planners approve temporary classrooms for Glenelg School

The county Planning Board yesterday recommended approval of two temporary classroom buildings for the Glenelg Country School on Folly Quarter Road.

By a 3-0 vote, the board recommended that the Board of Appeals grant the school an expansion of its special exception for a private school.

The school petitioned for the expansion to allow the construction of two one-story temporary classroom buildings on a parking area 45 feet behind the building housing the administration, lower and middle schools.

One building, measuring 1,440 square feet, will have two classrooms, while the other, at 864 square feet, will have one classroom.

The Board of Appeals is scheduled to hear the school's petition on April 27.
