* ASSAULT/ARREST: Northern District -- Police arrested a woman Tuesday and were holding her at the women's detention center at the Central District pending charges that she threatened to cut a man with a knife during an incident in the 2800 block of W. Garrison Ave.

* STOLEN CAR: Northern District -- A 1985 Toyota with Maryland tags SDC 561 was stolen Tuesday from Art Museum Drive.

* STOLEN CAR: Northern District -- A 1986 Toyota owned by a resident of the 900 block of Winterhaven Ave. was stolen from the 5900 block of Northwood Drive Tuesday.

* CARJACKING: Southwestern District -- Two men, one with a silver colored handgun, robbed a Baltimore County motorist of his 1989 Ford Escort with Maryland tags ARF 862 in the 3400 block of W. North Ave. Tuesday night. Before the gunman and his accomplice drove off, they robbed the motorist of $6 and a passenger in the car of $11.

* ASSAULT: Southwestern District -- A resident of the 500 block of N. Edgewood St. was walking near her home Tuesday night when a man pointed a handgun at her and chased her down the street. The woman was not injured. Police said the incident was over her fighting with the gunman's girlfriend earlier in the day.

* ROBBERY: Southern District -- A resident of the 3600 block of Second St. in Brooklyn was inside a house in the 3700 block of 10th St. Tuesday morning when a man struck him in the head with an ashtray and robbed him of $35.

* ROBBERY: Southern District -- Two men attacked a resident of the 500 block of N. Stricker St. in the 1200 block of W. Pratt St. Tuesday evening and robbed him of $20.

* ARRESTS: Southern District -- Police arrested a man Tuesday when he attempted to leave the Safeway food market in the 1200 block of W. Pratt St. without paying for items valued at more than $23. In the same store, a woman was arrested Tuesday when she tried to leave the store after stealing meats and juice valued at $26.

* SHOOTING: Western District -- Two New York City men were shot Tuesday afternoon while walking in the 600 block of N. Monroe St. The men were admitted to the University of Maryland Medical Center for treatment of gunshot wounds to the legs.

* BURGLARY: Western District -- Someone entered a house in the 900 block of N. Carey St. Monday morning through a second-floor window and stole tools valued at $200.

* BURGLARY: Western District -- A 19-inch TV and food items, all valued at nearly $300, were stolen Tuesday from a house in the 1500 block of N. Appleton St.

* THEFT: Western District -- Someone entered a linen shop in the 2500 block of Pennsylvania Ave. Tuesday and stole cash and checks, all valued at nearly $1,600, from a safe.

* THEFT: Western District -- A car phone valued at $1,000 was stolen from a vehicle parked in the 800 block of W. Baltimore St. Monday.

* PURSE SNATCHING: Western District -- A resident of the 3900 block of Penhurst Ave. was walking in the first block of N. $H Carrollton Ave. Tuesday afternoon when a man stole her purse containing $20.


* ROBBERY: Woodlawn District -- A gunman robbed the Family Dollar store in the 2300 block of N. Rolling Road Tuesday night and escaped with an undisclosed sum of money.

* ROBBERY: Woodlawn District -- Three men who implied they were armed robbed the Subway sandwich shop in the 8100 block of Liberty Road Tuesday night of nearly $200 and escaped on foot.

* STABBING: White Marsh District -- A 43-year-old man was admitted to the Maryland Shock Trauma Center after he was stabbed in his home Tuesday evening. The man, a resident of the 5100 block of Meridy Ave. in Overlea, got up at 6:20 p.m. after taking a nap and was bending over to pet his dog when his wife allegedly stabbed him in the side. Charges against the wife were pending her release from Franklin Square Hospital, where she was taken for evaluation. The man's injury was not life threatening.

* BURGLARY: White Marsh District -- Someone entered a house in the 7500 block of Mount Vista Road in Kingsville Tuesday and stole a 4-wheel all-terrain vehicle.


* THEFT: Edgewood -- Someone stole more than $700 that was left on a counter Monday afternoon at the Fairlanes Bowling Center in the 1900 block of Pulaski Highway. An employee had put the money on the counter and noticed that it was missing a few minutes later.
