Saying he was "wrapping up the final chapter" in his coaching search, Severn athletic director Fred Hewitt announced the hiring of boys and girls soccer coaches yesterday.

Wayne Sanchez was named as replacement for boys coach Rick Lenfest, who is moving to New England. Sanchez has been Archbishop Spalding's girls soccer coach the past three seasons and previously spent four years as an assistant at Severna Park.

Tom Ehart was hired to replace girls soccer coach Mark Wagner, who has become one of Sanchez's assistants with the boys program. Ehart has spent the past three years as an assistant to Jerry Tobin at St. Mary's, and he coaches a Severna Park under-19 Washington Area Girls Soccer team.

Earlier this month, Hewitt named Wayne Fowler and Alan Pastrana as boys basketball and football coaches, respectively.

"I'm just delighted with the qualify of coaches we're bringing in," Hewitt said.
