March 29, 1993

A 21-year-old Glen Burnie man was stabbed and robbed and his friend was assaulted early Saturday morning near Crain Highway and Baltimore-Annapolis Boulevard, county police said.

Andrew Achnick of the 7800 block of Americana Circle was stabbed in the right thigh. He was treated at North Arundel Hospital and released.

Police said Mr. Achnick was sitting in the passenger seat of a friend's car at 12:30 a.m., when he got into an argument with three men and a woman in a car at an intersection near Crain Highway and Baltimore-Annapolis Boulevard.

The suspects followed the car in which Mr. Achnick was riding to a house in the 700 block of Wimmer Road, off 5th Avenue in Glen Burnie.

One of the men jumped in Mr. Achnick's car, stabbed him and stole his wallet. The driver, William Copelend, 21, tried to help, but he was thrown to the ground, kicked in the head and also had his wallet stolen.
