Harford County boys lacrosse players to watch

March 26, 1993

* Jamie Auer, Fallston, Jr., goal -- An occasional starter early last year, he came on to start the playoff games as the team went to the state semifinals. His experience will be vital behind a defense that has one starter back.

* Jason Bernard, Havre de Grace, Sr., midfield -- One of the team's best players, he is coming off a 32-goal season.

* Tim Brenneman, Joppatowne, Sr., attack -- The only returning starter, he will be on a wing; last year, he worked from behind the goal. He scored 15 goals as a junior, but needs more this season.

* Adam Casper, Bel Air, Jr., attack -- Although the team has some good, experienced seniors, Casper could be a factor. He was the leading scorer for last year's JV, and production will be important as the offense carries the load until a relatively new defense gets settled.

* Keith Chesla, North Harford, Sr., midfield -- At 6 feet 4, 210 pounds, he could be a force in the middle.

* Chuck Heinze, C. Milton Wright, Sr., defense -- The defense is expected to be the strength of this team, with Heinze the leader. A three-year starter, he has good size and quickness.

* Corey Lambroff, C. Milton Wright, Sr., attack -- A 30-goal scorer last year, he will be the key player on an attack that is questionable before the start of the season.

* Kevin Simon, Aberdeen, Sr., defense -- A senior and captain, his leadership and skills will be important for a team that returns mostly underclassmen.

* Kevin Stever, John Carroll, Jr., goal -- He will be on the spot early as an inexperienced defense matures in front of him.
