Players to watch 1993 high school girls lacrosse preview

* Candice Blanchette, South Carroll, Sr., attack -- Likely to b one of leading scorers in county. Will be expected to do lot of scoring to help Cavaliers overcome defensive weaknesses.

* Dani Fostik, Liberty, Sr., goalkeeper -- Cream of crop among goalies in county, having made All-County team since freshman year. Has good reflexes and isn't afraid of ball.

* Tammy Giffi, North Carroll, Sr., attack -- Ninth in county in scoring last season and scored six goals in 15-14 upset in overtime against Liberty in first round of Class 2A-1A, Region I playoffs.

* Kara Hedges, Westminster, Sr., defense -- Expected to lead strong Owls defense that could be good enough to help team catch Liberty, which has won county title past three years.

* Megan Horneman, Liberty, Jr., attack/midfield -- An All-County choice last season uses speed and strength to score goals. One of top 10 scorers in five-year history of Liberty lacrosse.

* Tinah Houck, Westminster, Sr., attack -- Has size, intelligence and quick release to score. One of 15 seniors returning to Owls' lineup.
