Appeals board denies zoning for rental units

The Manchester Board of Planning and Zoning Appeals denied approval Monday for the conversion of a single-family dwelling at 3402 Augusta Road into two rental units, Assistant Zoning Administrator Miriam DePalmer said yesterday.

She said the board had denied the conditional use sought by Doloris Peregoy.

Ms. DePalmer said Ms. Peregoy had said she was not going to live there, but would instead rent out the two units.

The board also denied Ms. Peregoy variances for the property, for a lot width of 80 feet instead of the required 90 feet, and for a lot size of 11,093 square feet instead of the required 20,000 square feet.

Ms. DePalmer said the board had felt the variances requested were "too great."

The driver of the vehicle, Thomas P. Wickline Sr., 57, of the 16200 block of Hanover Road, lost control of the 1991 Ford F-150 truck, veered off the roadway and struck a tree about 3:30 p.m., state police said.
