'Crying Game' wins screenplay award

Neil Jordan won the Writers Guild of America award for bes original screenplay for "The Crying Game." At the WGA's 45th annual ceremonies in Beverly Hills Monday, Jordan said he never thought the movie would be made and that if it was "I imagined it would finish my career" because of its explosive plot.

Michael Tolkin, who wrote that nasty satire about Hollywood, "The Player," won for best screenplay based on previously produced or published material.
