High school baseball: Players to watch 1993 High school baseball preview

* Brian Boteler, Glenelg, Jr., shortstop -- Boteler batted .388 with 19 RBI last season. He was first-team All-County at third base but moves to shortstop this season.

* Joe Brewer, Hammond, Sr., center fielder -- He batted .411 with seven doubles, 10 RBI and 20 runs scored. He stole 10 bases and didn't make an error in 31 chances.

* Matt Cyran, Hammond, Sr., shortstop/pitcher -- Cyran batted .411 with five home runs last season and was 3-2 on the mound.

* Mike Fadrowski, Mount Hebron, Sr., outfield -- An outstanding outfielder, Fadrowski hit .360 last season.

* Bill Ferguson, Wilde Lake, Sr., shortstop -- Ferguson batted .477 last season and is a slick defensive player.

* Jeff Lewis, Glenelg, Sr., pitcher -- Lewis compiled a 7-1 record and 1.73 ERA last season for the county co-champions. Four of last season's wins were by 2-1 scores.

* Matt Noon, Oakland Mills, Sr., pitcher/first baseman -- Although he didn't play last season, Noon is one of the top players in the county. The 6-foot-3, 215-pounder has lots of power.

* Tito Santos, Howard, Sr., shortstop/pitcher -- A transfer from Springbrook High in Montgomery County, Santos can hit, field, pitch and run well.

* Derek Schneider, Atholton, Jr., outfield -- Schneider can do it all -- hit, run and throw. He's one of the most talented players in the league.

* Eric Volland, Mount Hebron, Sr., pitcher -- He was 5-1 last season and one of the league's top hurlers.
