Crownsville subdivision proposed

A county developer has proposed building a 14-lot subdivision in Crownsville near the Severn River.

The builder, Amos D. Carr, hopes to build 14 single-family homes costing between $250,000 and $300,000, said a spokeswoman. She added that Mr. Carr thought there was a market in the Crownsville area for such dwellings.

The development is planned for the north side of Herald Harbor Road at Chambers River Road.

Plans for the subdivision will be reviewed at 8:45 a.m. April 15 by the county's Office of Planning and Zoning.

The subdivision would be called Carrs Landing at Plum Creek.

Police search van, seize marijuana

Police said they stopped a 1976 Volkswagen bus with Rhode Island license plates on the parkway near Route 175 shortly after midnight. The driver agreed to let them search the bus, and police found the marijuana.

John G. Prcyous, 23, and Shonna Jene Conery, 23, were taken to Western District to be charged.
