Death of doctor and his wife ruled suicides

March 18, 1993

The state medical examiner's office has ruled suicide by asphyxia caused the deaths of an elderly couple in their Sykesville home.

About noon Tuesday, Dr. William J. Bryson and his wife, Charlotte, both 75, were found in the master bedroom at their home in the 600 block of Sideling Court, police said.

There were no signs of foul play when police arrived at the house. Suicide notes were found.

Dr. Bryson, who was terminally ill, retired from a private practice in Catonsville several years ago, said a spokesman for St. Agnes Hospital, where the doctor once worked.

Funeral arrangements were not immediately available.
