Earthquake forum slated

Rep. Benjamin L. Cardin, D-3rd, will sponsor an earthquake information forum at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday in the offices of Howard County Public Schools, 10910 Route 108 in Ellicott City.

Howard County has been shaken by several earthquakes in the last week.

Dr. Robert Wesson, chief of the U.S. Geological Survey's Office of Earthquakes, Volcanoes and Engineering, and Dr. James Reger, chief of environmental geology at the Maryland Department of Natural Resources, will talk to Howard County residents about the risks of additional earthquakes in the area.

* Ellicott City: 11700 block of Triadelphia Road: Someone fired a pellet gun at window of a family room between midnight March 8 and 7:30 a.m. March 15. The shot left a small hole in the window.

4000 block of Arjay Circle: Someone smashed the rear passenger side window on a 1991 BMW 525i between 8 p.m. March 8 and 8:30 p.m. March 10.

10000 block of Whitworth Way: A mailbox was destroyed between 10:30 p.m. March 10 and 7:30 a.m. March 11.

3800 block of Font Hill Drive: A mailbox was destroyed between 6 p.m. March 10 and 7:30 a.m. March 11.

9900 block of Whitworth Way: A mailbox was destroyed between 5 p.m. March 10 and 7:25 a.m. March 11.

3700 block of Font Hill Drive: A mailbox was damaged between 6:30 p.m. March 10 and 7:25 a.m. March 11.

3400 block of Font Hill Drive: A mailbox was destroyed between 7 p.m. March 10 and 7 a.m. March 11.
