Search is under way for Teacher of Year

The search for Anne Arundel County's teacher of the year is on.

Applications have been distributed to principals, PTA presidents, and student government leaders.

The applications are due by April 16 to Teacher of the Year coordinator Nancy Jane Adams at Office of the Superintendent, Anne Arundel County Public Schools, 2644 Riva Road, Annapolis Road 21401.

Anyone may nominate a teacher.

The person who makes the nomination is responsible for collecting letters of support, assisting the nominee with the basic data sheet and helping to prepare the application for reviewing.

A committee reviews the applications and selects three finalists for interviews in April. The superintendent of schools makes the final selection. The decision will be announced by May 10.

The Maryland Capital Chapter of the American Business Women's Association in Annapolis is currently accepting applications for scholarships for the 1993-1994 academic year.
