Electronics business to open Arundel office

A California-based electronics and communications company is opening an office in a business park west of Odenton, a developer announced yesterday.

Stanford Telecom has leased 30,871 square feet of office space in a two-story building, part of a three-complex, 350-acre park at the corner of Route 32 and the Baltimore-Washington Parkway.

The company, headquartered in Santa Clara, Calif., designs, manufactures and operates electronics and communication systems. The Anne Arundel office will house the Applied Technology division.

About 35 employees are expected to work at Stanford's Anne Arundel office. Other tenants at the park include ITT Federal Services, GTE Government Systems and the Security Affairs Support Association.

The two-story office building is now 98 percent leased. The first section of the business park, containing 430,000 square feet, is 83 percent leased.

The business park is owned by Constellation Real Estate, a Columbia-based development company that also is building the 4,000-home Piney Orchard development.
