Race Pace, a county bicycling group, will test the county's new bicycle racing guidelines.

"They agreed to be the guinea pig for these guidelines," said Keith Kirschnick, director of public works, at a meeting Tuesday with the county commissioners.

"We will run through these two events to iron out details and

bring it back to you for an OK."

The group plans two races in the Bark Hill area near Union Bridge from 9 a.m. to noon on March 20 and April 3.

The cyclists will post notices in the community about a week before the races. The county will provide "slow" and "stop" paddle signs. A state police officer also will be on duty to enforce the guidelines, said Mr. Kirschnick.
