Baseball league to parade in April

Pasadena's annual harbinger of spring, the Lake Shore Youth Baseball league parade, has been set for April 24.

The parade, which will step off at 9 a.m., will proceed down Mountain Road from Lake Shore Elementary School to North Shore Road, where the players will gather at Looper's Field for opening day ceremonies.

Mountain Road will be closed during the parade for about 30 minutes.

About 600 players on 50 teams, ranging from 5-year-old tee-ball players to 14-year-old hardballers, will participate. The Chesapeake High School band will lead the way.

The DARE (Drug Abuse Resistance Education) bear and McGruff the Crime Dog also will participate.
