Lions to raise money for rescue craft

As a result of a recent drowning in a Taneytown pond, the Taneytown Lions Club has pledged to help provide the local fire department with a water-rescue craft.

Toward that end, the Lions Club will have an all-you-can-eat pancake breakfast from 5 a.m. until noon March 20 on the Taneytown Carnival Grounds.

The menu includes pancakes, sausage, gravy, eggs, pudding and hominy, and beverages.

FIRE

* Harney: Firefighters from the Harney station were dispatched for a report of a gas leak on East Main Street in Emmitsburg at 5:46 p.m. Sunday. They were out for 30 minutes.

Harney assisted Frederick County at 12:30 p.m. Monday in investigating a gas leak on West Main Street in Emmitsburg. Units were out for 80 minutes.

* Union Bridge: Union Bridge responded to an auto fire on Bucher John Road at 6:36 a.m. Monday. Units were out for 43 minutes.
