Water company leaving Howard for Odenton

A Howard County bottled water company will move to Odenton on Monday, bringing 43 workers to an industrial park near the intersection of Annapolis and Telegraph roads.

The Great Bear Spring Co., which has its own line of water, Great Bear Natural Spring Water, and distributes Poland Spring and Perrier brand water, needs a bigger office for its trucking outlet, company officials said.

The company distributes bottled water in the Baltimore-Washington region and Virginia. It is moving from a building in the Baltimore-Washington Industrial Park just off Route 1.

Jamie Creel, an administrative assistant, said the new building is in the 1300 block of Blaire Drive, in Arundel Crossing West. A ribbon-cutting ceremony will take place Monday.

Hanover man injured in January crash dies

An 18-year-old Hanover man died Wednesday morning from injuries he sustained in January when his Thunderbird ran off a road in Ellicott City and struck a utility pole, Howard County police said.

David Grayson Williams, of the 6100 block of Shady Lane in Hanover, was injured about 11:30 p.m. Jan. 30 when his 1986 Ford Thunderbird ran off Montgomery Road, spun out of control and struck a utility pole just south of Stonecrest Drive, police said.

He was taken to the Maryland Shock Trauma Center in Baltimore, where he remained hospitalized until he died at 10:37 a.m. Wednesday, a hospital spokeswoman said.

A 15-year-old passenger was taken to Howard County General Hospital after the accident, but was released, police said.

Pioneer City woman charge in drug raid

A 35-year-old Pioneer City woman was charged with possession with intent to distribute cocaine after police raided her home Wednesday night.

According to the police report, officers armed with a search warrant for the house in the 8500 block of Pioneer Drive seized $700 and 23 bags of crack cocaine.

Officers said they received an anonymous tip about the drugs on the drug hot line at Western District station.

Toni Marie Green was taken to Western District to be charged.


* Hanover: A car stereo and speakers valued at $336 were stolen from a 1992 Suzuki parked in the 7200 block of Standard Drive Monday.

Severn: Someone stole stereo equipment from a 1981 Pontiac Firebird parked in the lot of T&C Towing in the 3300 block of Fort Meade Road between Feb. 10 and Tuesday. The equipment was valued at $600.

Crofton: Burglars took appliances and other property valued at $1,996 from a home in the 1400 block of Carlyle Drive in Crofton Monday between 10 a.m. and 2:20 p.m.
