Los Angeles Raiders -- Confirmed reports that they had signed free-agent OT Gerald Perry, then said the deal was not completed. The Daily Breeze in Torrance, Calif., said Perry, who played for the Los Angeles Rams last season, would earn $3 million over three years.

Miami Dolphins -- Signed WR Bernard Ford, RB Cedric Smith, CB Chuck Carswell, G Charles Hope and QB Doug Pederson.

NHL -- Suspended Montreal LW Mario Roberge for one game and fined him $500 and the Canadiens $760 for injuring Boston Bruins RW Darin Kimble during an altercation Monday.

Pittsburgh Penguins -- Named Jack Kelley senior executive assistant to the president.

San Diego Gulls (IHL) -- Released D Kord Cernich.
