Woman, 38, robbed in Westminster

Threatened by a man who kept his hand in his pocket as though he was armed, a 38-year-old Westminster woman turned over an undisclosed amount of money to a robber in the 200 block of E. Main St. about 1:45 a.m. yesterday.

Pamela Daniel told police she had parked and was approached by a man who demanded money as she was getting out of her car.

Ms. Daniel said she gave the man money because she believed he was carrying a weapon in his pocket. The robber took her money and fled on foot.

The suspect was described as a black male about 29 years old, about 165 pounds, wearing a blue bandanna, a dark jacket and dark pants.

Ms. Daniel was not injured in the robbery, police said. * Finksburg: A small amount of oil leaking from an oil drum at a company on Industrial Park Drive was checked at 6:50 p.m. Tuesday by fire units from the Reese and Gamber stations. They were out for 39 minutes.

* Westminster: A chimney fire in a house on East Main Street brought firefighters from the Westminster, Reese, Pleasant Valley and Manchester stations at 10:35 p.m. Tuesday. They were out for 23 minutes.
