C. Milton Wright senior center Stacey Milton wasn't heading to Disney World after the Mustangs' 48-23 win last night over visiting Parkville.

Nonetheless, the 6-foot senior seemed extraordinarily eager to get to her next destination.

"We won," she shouted, throwing her arms into the air. "We're going to McDonald's!"

Those who had witnessed her performance in the state Class 3A, Region II first-round contest would understand her hunger. Milton worked up an appetite, scoring 23 points, pulling down 16 rebounds and blocking eight shots.

The victory advanced the fourth-seeded Mustangs (16-4) to a regional semifinal against No. 1 seed Randallstown tomorrow night.

"I thought we just out-hustled them," Milton said. "We thought we could win coming in, but we weren't definite."

What Milton and C. Milton Wright didn't do to Parkville, the fifth-seeded Knights did to themselves. Parkville committed 28 turnovers and made only eight of 40 shots from the field. Any time the Knights tried to come inside, there was Milton, ready to swat it away.

"I think Stacey Milton may have intimidated them a little on the inside," said C. Milton Wright coach Gloria Liedich. "I thought we did a tremendous job defensively. The team played excellent help-out defense, and I think that was the difference in the game."

C. Milton Wright's defense stymied Parkville in the first quarter, forcing the Knights to turn the ball over on each of their first four possessions. The Mustangs took advantage, taking a 10-0 lead.

Parkville's first basket of the game came with 32 seconds left in the first quarter, when senior Kelly Lemley made a shot just inside the three-point circle.

Amanda McCulloch was the Mustangs' second-leading scorer, with seven points.
