March Lion

March 02, 1993|By Joyce S. Brown

(To my Adolescent Son)

The lion,

described as king

or coward

by the layman,

is labeled lazy

by those who know.

He spends his hours

simply resting

in the grassy plains;

no inner drive

but hunger

puts him on the prowl.

He would rather

watch the women

do the work.

He is strong

and roaring: a most

companionable cat.
